How to Draw A Scythe
In this tutorial on how to draw a scythe, we’ll draw a pretty elaborate and cool-looking version of this tool.
The scythe we’ll draw seems right at home in an epic fantasy or horror story!
Let’s start with the scythe blade. Use a single curved stripe for the lid of the scythe as it looks in our contact image.
Next, please give it a sharp point and extend another shorter curved line for the first half of the bottom edge.
There will then be a rounded, sharp hole in the bottom edge, and once you’ve drawn, you can move on to the next step to Draw A Scythe.
Now we can complete the blade of the touring scythe design in this next step. Like the rest of the scythe, this blade part will be patterned and detailed.
You can begin by drawing a circle around the back of the blade. Then draw another smaller circle next to it.
Once these circles are drawn, you can draw more curved lines for the curved outline of the scythe blade as they appear in our example.
It will then proceed to step 3 of the guide, so let’s move on when you’re ready to Draw A Scythe!
We’ll leave the blade for now while we start drawing the handle in this tutorial step on drawing a scythe.
Even though this is just the handle, we still need to make it as detailed and artistic as the blade was!
Using a light pencil and ruler is recommended to draw the straight lines of the handle.
Then you can use a pencil to draw the angular details that snake around the handle and jut out.
Please make sure you also go beyond the straight lines of the stick itself before proceeding to step 4 to Draw A Scythe!
Continuing from this Sense design, we can add more to the handle.
If you previously used our tip for drawing a pencil line, now you can use your pen and ruler to draw the rest of the edge for the handle.
After drawing, let’s add some details to the end of the handle.
This detail will be subtle and angular in an almost lightning-like shape. After drawing, the next step of the guide allows us to complete the final details and elements to Draw A Scythe.
You can now add the finishing touches and details in this fifth step of our how-to draw a scythe guide!
The main thing we’re going to do in this step is to draw the rest of the handle. Use the pen to draw the rest of the handle’s stem, then finish the details at the end of the handle.
After drawing, you can add more curved line details on the scythe blade. Then you’re ready to color your creation when we get to the final step!
Before that, you can draw a background or accessories for this cool scythe. We can’t wait to see how you finish it to Draw A Scythe!
You’ve reached the final stages of this scythe drawing and are now ready to colorize it to finish it off. Our reference image kept the colors a bit darker and more subdued.
You can take a similar approach with yours, but this is your design, and you should also feel free to use any color options that you like!
It also lets you have fun dictating the media and artistic tools you use to make your color choices. Make sure you have fun and see what happens to Draw A Scythe!
