Step 1:
As we go through this guide on how to draw a kite, we will draw one similar to the shape of a manta ray. You can even use what you learn in this manual to draw your kite plans! You can start by drawing two straight lines that connect to form a sharp point at the front of the kite. Next, we will use wavy and curved lines for the base of the kite. Finally, you can also start drawing a tail for the kite, and you can do this by drawing long thin rectangular strips coming out from the base. You will then go to step 2!
Step 2:
Moving on to this second step of drawing your kite, you can now draw some decorative details on the surface. We’ll only show you one layout you can choose from in this guide, but you can also create a new one if you want! To complete our design, we’ll draw curved lines from the kite base you drew in the previous step. These curved lines will create an almost rainbow effect on the kite. Once these details have been drawn, we will move on to step 3 of the guide.
Step 3:
We will keep something simple in this third step of our focus on removing a kite. For this and the following steps, you must add more details similar to what you have already drawn. For now, you can draw more curved lines on the surface pattern of the kite than you started drawing in the previous step. Once you’ve drawn them, we’ll finish this third step by drawing another tail strand behind the kite.
Step 4:
For this kite drawing, we want it to look friendly and complete, so we’ll add a few more threads to it as we start to finish this picture. This fourth step of the guide should be another simple step to do! All you have to do for this one is draw another of those rectangular strands you drew for the tail. Once it’s drawn, we’ll move on to the final details of this kite in the next step, so let’s add those final touches when it’s done!
Step 5:
You will soon be colouring your creation, but first, we have some final touches to add to this step of our how-to draw a kite guide. The central aspect that we will focus on will be the finish of the kite’s tail. Again, we’ll draw more of these skinny rectangular shapes, but for this step, we’ll get these new ones by twisting them on top of each other a bit. When you’ve drawn the rest of the tail, you’re ready to draw your final details and elements. There are so multiple methods to do it! One idea would be to draw your design or image on the kite’s body. You can also draw an attached line and create a background with clouds to get more ideas. How would you complete this drawing?
Step 6:
Now it’s time to have fun colouring your kite drawing! In our example image, we mix bright colours for each section of the design on the kite to create a vibrant image. You can use similar colours for your drawing or express your creativity and use unique colours! You can also achieve unique colours by changing your art media, so this is an excellent opportunity to experiment and see what happens.
